Abstract. In this paper, the authors obtain the general solution and generalized Ulam - Hyers stability of additive quadratic functional equation
\begin{align*} f(2x+y) - f(2x-y) = 2[f(x+y) - f(x-y)] - f(y) + f(-y) \end{align*}
in Banach spaces.
